Welcome to Altly! Use this comprehensive guide to create your account, access your free trial credits, and integrate Altly into your WordPress site for automated alt-text generation.

1. Creating an Account

• Sign Up: Visit https://app.altly.io/signup to create your account.
• Log In: If you already have an account, visit https://app.altly.io/login.
• Free Trial: New users receive 50 credits (1 credit = 1 image) for free to explore Altly's features.
• Subscribing After Trial: Once you use up your free credits, follow these steps to subscribe:
  • Go to https://app.altly.io/account.
  • Select Manage Your Subscription, and follow the on-screen prompts to purchase a plan.
  • Multiple subscription plans are available to suit your needs, and billing details are easily accessible from your account dashboard.

2. Using Altly with WordPress

Altly’s WordPress plugin offers a streamlined solution for generating alt text across your media library.

Step 1: Download, Install, and Activate the Plugin

• Download the latest version of the plugin.
• In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
• Upload the downloaded ZIP file, click Install Now, and then activate the plugin.
• Upon activation, Altly will add a new menu item under Media > Generate Alt Text.

Step 2: Configure the Plugin with Your API Key

• Access Media > Generate Alt Text from your WordPress dashboard.
• Click on Settings and enter your API License Key:
  • Retrieve your API key from your Altly account by navigating to License Keys and generating a new key.
  • Copy and paste the key into the plugin settings and save.
  • Once verified, the plugin will connect directly to your Altly account.

Step 3: Generate Alt Text for Images

• From the Altly dashboard, view a list of all images in your media library without alt text.
